2008 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Rich and Susan give 30-40 lectures, slide shows or grafting demonstrations per year to horticulture classes, professional organizations, plant societies, arborists, and garden clubs. Rich and Susan also promote the American Conifer Society and the resources that the membership provides.

Morton Arboretum
Saturday, March 1  9:30 am-noon “Got Those Conifer Blues?” The color blue adds accent to the garden, drawing your eye or creating a stunning background to showcase other plants and flowers.  Review a selection of blue-foliaged evergreens and then walk with Rich through the Arboretum’s Pinetum to see these plants in the landscape.

Chicagoland Flower and Garden Show
March 8-16  Come and smell the spring flowers and see garden displays in Rosemont IL. Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont IL.  RFWP has created gardens at this show for 15 years!  Visit www.chicagolandflowerandgarden.com

 Hosta Happening for Heifer International
Saturday, May 31,  2008  and Saturday, September 6, 2008  9am-4pm Rich’s Foxwillow Pines Nursery, 11618 McConnell Road Woodstock IL    More than 500 varieties of hosta available.  Sales benefit Heifer International. Volunteers are needed to divide and sell plants for these events.

American Conifer Society Meeting
June 26-28 National Meeting Dubuque, Iowa, in the heart of the Central Region. Let’s show support of the Conifer Society…the meeting is within striking distance. It is the best way to network and meet the most knowledgeable coniferites.  The auction is well worth it to purchase the rarest dwarf conifers in the world!  www.conifersociety.org

July 8-12 Schaumburg IL Rich’s Foxwillow Pines is hosting the Saturday night dinner, July 12th.
